Dear Juniors,
If you missed class, we completed the following:
1. We took the first 10 minutes of class to review for your quiz covering short stories.
2. We then proceeded to take the quiz, which took MOST of the period. The quiz questions pertain to a short story entitled "The Alchemist's Secret" by Arthur Gordon. I read the story out loud to everyone, and had them annotate for aspects regarding CHARACTERIZATION, IRONY, FORESHADOWING and SHORT STORY STRUCTURE (exposition, rising action, etc.).
3. After reading the story to everyone, students proceeded to respond to the questions.
4. We corrected the quiz together as a class.
HOMEWORK:
1. Remember that your AW #3 regarding the Taliban's treatment of women is due on Thursday. You are only to annotate using RED/5-7/page!

You will need to take your quiz during a Flex session. If that doesn't work for your schedules then we can make arrangements for you to meet me after school.
